Home / Installation Process
From the first conversation to final commissioning, VYON follows a clear installation process so you know what is being assessed, what comes next, and how the charging infrastructure moves from planning to operation.
01
Same Week
The first conversation establishes the vehicles, parking environment, expected charging use, and what the site may need over the next few years.
02
One Visit
The property is reviewed in person to understand the meter, distribution equipment, existing load, parking arrangement, charger position, and possible cable routes.
03
Within a Few Working Days
Once the site information is clear, VYON develops the electrical and charger plan and prepares a proposal covering the agreed equipment, installation scope, and project requirements.
The design also considers the wider EV charging infrastructure quality requirements behind the visible charger.
04
Depends on the Utility
Where a project requires additional electrical capacity, a new connection, or coordination with building management, the required documentation and next steps are identified before installation proceeds.
05
Agreed With You
Once the installation direction is confirmed, equipment requirements and installation dates are coordinated around the site and its normal operating schedule.
06
Often One Day for Homes
The physical EV charger installation can include cabling, mounting, distribution changes, protection, civil works, charger positioning, and related site preparation according to the approved scope.
Installation decisions also follow relevant EV charging safety standards for the project.
07
At Completion
Before everyday use begins, the charger and supporting electrical system are tested, configured, and commissioned. Connected functions can also be set up where the project uses supported EV charging technology.
08
Ongoing
At handover, VYON explains how the charging equipment is used and managed, provides the relevant project information, and establishes the appropriate support pathway for the installed system.
The timeline depends on the site, charger type, electrical requirements, equipment availability, and whether utility or building approvals are needed. A straightforward residential project may move quickly, while larger commercial or multi-charger installations can require additional design, coordination, civil work, and scheduling.
The page offers a free consultation as the starting point for discussing the vehicles, property, parking arrangement, and expected charging requirements. More detailed site work, assessment, design, or installation requirements can then be determined once VYON understands the project and its scope.
Not every project requires one. The existing electrical load and available capacity need to be reviewed first. If the current supply cannot support the proposed charging demand, additional capacity, distribution changes, or utility coordination may need to be considered before installation proceeds.
The amount of disruption depends on the cable route, electrical work, charger position, civil requirements, and scale of the project. Installation scheduling is agreed around the site, with the aim of coordinating access and work areas before the physical installation begins.
Tell VYON about your home, business, fleet, or charging site and our team can explain what the assessment, electrical work, installation, and commissioning stages may involve. You can also contact VYON directly to discuss the next step.
